In the 15th and 16th centuries, civil poets and singers in Augsburg, Nuremberg, Strasbourg, and Frankfurt formed a guild known as the Meistersingers. Their singing competitions, depicted in Wagner’s “The Meistersingers of Nuremberg,” crowned the singer with the ability to reach new notes as the Meistersinger.
MeisterSinger watches, with their single-hour hand, evoke a sense of deceleration, reflecting the meaning of the logo above the name. The fermata, an upside-down pause symbol in musical notation, represents this concept.
Manfred Brassler founded MeisterSinger in 2001, seeking an alternative to wristwatches that constantly display time. Inspired by historical single-hand clocks, he created timepieces that prioritise the wearer’s experience over the minutiae of seconds.
Brassler’s dials retain the practical and clear readability of classical gauges and measuring instruments, ensuring easy readability. This distinctive feature sets MeisterSinger watches apart and makes them unmistakably MeisterSinger.
